First of one of the main reasons we bought our home was the fact that
it had a warranty on all the windows and doors. They had just been
installed many within the past 3 years. The was told By barrier windows that it had this warranty. I also called
barrier about some windows that were broken and a door which had
molding that was warped and bent from the sun. they came and fixed it
and said yes it is under warranty. They also came to look at my other
doors that were leaking and tried to fix it. at this point they decided
that they were starting to loose profits and stopped all warranty on
the products and said it never had a warranty and gave me the run
around for many many months ,now years. I have carbon copies of all the
installs of the windows and doors signed by barrier windows. and many
pictures. barrier says they no longer offer transferable warranties on
their windows and doors which they told me they did by several of their
sales reps and tech people.
I actually had a sales rep come here here to my home to get me to photocopy some of the letters and documents form barrier and the sales manager
there. Barriers field reps couldn't believe their eyes and asked if I
would gave them a photo copy to show to their other workers. They said
barrier was trying to get out of having to replace and bad windows and
doors which they knew they should be replacing. Even the actual door
and window manufacturers I called and said barrier windows of
westmoreland ny should be taking care of my warrantied products and me
and they are not. I even have letters from the original owner who is a
chemical engineer who offered to sign any leagal depositions supporting
my claims aginst barrier windows. He also called barrier windows and
was lied to again. Barrier is scam and and they will try to deny it
here and other places. The fact is these windows and doors were only a
couple of years old and should not be failing like they were and are
warranty or not! Do yourself a favor and find some other company for
your windows and doors
